There is a specific kind of language that is popular in mommy Facebook groups that totally irks me. Maybe this is just the way that young moms talk these days, but it seems like every post includes the phrase "Hey mamas," "Mamas, I need some advice," or "This hurts my mama heart." I understand that being a mom is a big part of these "mamas" identities, but doesn't it kind of strip away their individuality? Imagine being in the hospital, pushing a baby out of your body, and the nurse calls you "mama" instead of your name? Maybe I just find it strange because I think adults are supposed to be called their names by other adults, and only kids should be calling you "mama." If you are a mama, think the overuse of "mama" is weird, or just love mama antics, these parenting posts will make your mama heart sing.
