Good day, hobbitses and Tolkien-heads! Did you know this is the anniversary of the very week that Bilbo returned to the Shire with the ring? Imagine, all of this could have been avoided were it not for that fateful moment (or, y'know, the fact that J.R.R. Tolkien decided to write a trilogy of books to prop up the language that he created).
We're glad it did, though, because it means that we all get to be here today. Thanks to that pesky piece of jewelry and the legend surrounding it, we now have the wonderful world of Lord of the Rings memes. No amount of extra movies and TV shows that get squeezed out of Middle-earth can compare to the dedication of the fandom and its sense of humor, although they will undoubtedly be watched anyway. We have to see if they can provide material for even more memes, you see.
